Ability to support survey field crews and office personnel with drafting and project-related activities. Secondary (Good to Have) Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design. Experience supporting surveying, transmission line, right-of-way, or utility projects . Experience working with local and state agencies to obtain right-of-way information. Position Overview The Drafter 2 will support surveying and engineering projects by preparing CAD drawings, researching survey and real estate records, and assisting field and office personnel. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of drafting experience , strong CAD drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret survey and property information. Experience with metes and bounds and centerline descriptions is required. CAD Drafting & Survey Support Perform CAD drafting for transmission line centerline right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys. Interpret and prepare metes and bounds and centerline descriptions for assigned projects. Support survey field crews and office personnel with drafting and project‑related activities. Review and interpret survey and property information for accuracy and completeness. Records & Right‑of‑Way Research Research existing survey records and real estate records to support assigned projects. Contact local and state agencies to obtain right‑of‑way information . Review available survey and property information to support project requirements. Project Coordination & Documentation Prepare and transmit completed projects and related documentation. Collaborate with survey field crews and office personnel to ensure project requirements are met. Maintain accuracy and completeness of project‑related drafting and documentation. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 2–5 years of drafting experience. Experience with CAD drafting. Ability to interpret survey and property information. Ability to read and prepare metes and bounds or centerline descriptions. Experience researching survey and real estate records. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with survey field crews and office personnel. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design. Experience supporting surveying, transmission line, right-of-way, or utility projects. Experience working with local and state agencies regarding right-of-way information. Physical Requirements Ability to perform regular office-based drafting and documentation activities. Ability to work with computer systems and CAD software for extended periods. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with field and office personnel. Professional office environment supporting surveying and engineering projects. Regular collaboration with survey field crews and office personnel. Work involves CAD drafting, research, documentation, and project coordination.
