Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing projects across the full lifecycle, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. You will be responsible for establishing clear delivery strategies, programme milestones, budgets and quality standards while ensuring that projects meet client, regulatory and operational requirements.


Key responsibilities will include coordinating multidisciplinary design and delivery teams, managing consultants, contractors and suppliers, and maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders. You will monitor project performance, identify and mitigate risks, manage change control, and provide accurate financial, commercial and progress reporting. The role will also require you to oversee health, safety, environmental and quality requirements, ensuring that all works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and contractual obligations. You will contribute to the development of project methodologies, support business growth opportunities and mentor less experienced project managers and team members.


Applicants should have significant experience delivering major water, wastewater or broader utilities infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of treatment facilities, networks, pumping stations or associated civil and mechanical works. A proven record of managing complex programmes, budgets, contracts and stakeholder expectations is essential. You will bring strong leadership, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to make sound decisions in a changing project environment. Experience with common construction and engineering contracts, risk management processes and project controls is desirable. A relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is preferred, alongside professional membership or chartered status where applicable.
