ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Service Assistant III to serve as a Host/Hostess in our Emergency Department. This unique role is designed to enhance the patient and visitor experience by providing warm, welcoming, and attentive food service support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Location: Wilmington Hospital – Wilmington, DE Schedule: Part-Time (20 hrs/week) Shifts: Every Weekend – 7:30 AM–5:30 PM What You’ll Do: Serve meals and snacks to patients in accordance with dietary guidelines. Collect and process patient menu selections using iPad technology. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate diet orders. Provide outstanding customer service and practice service recovery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of pantry and service areas. Monitor patient satisfaction and communicate feedback to the nutrition team. Rotate between morning and evening shifts to support 24/7 patient care. What We’re Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous food service experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable using technology (iPad) for menu collection. ServSafe certification is a plus. This position has a starting rate of $18.08 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
