About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; First-timers accepted with experience in Neurosurgery/Spine/ENT License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BLS required, ACLS required Must-Have: Extensive experience in Hepatobiliary, Whipple, and Abdominal Organ transplant; Proficient in complex Spine, ENT, Neuro, and intrabdominal transplant Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Operating Room. The nurse must be proficient in complex procedures and have a strong background in Hepatobiliary, Whipple, and abdominal organ transplant. Experience with Neurosurgery and Spine surgery is highly preferred. The average daily census is between 20-28 patients. The facility operates 17 rooms. The nurse may be required to be on-call after shifts until 6:30 AM, with a possible weekend call. Response time for call shifts is 45 minutes. Due to staffing needs, there may be 5-6 call shifts required in a 6-week period. The nurse may be called in to provide relief for breaks or lunch during shifts. Although efforts will be made to minimize this, the nurse should be prepared for variable demands. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential for success in this role. The position requires floating within the scope to meet facility needs. The hospital is a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated facility. The unit deals with complex, high-acuity procedures. The patient population includes adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The Registered Nurse must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling high-stress situations effectively. Candidates should be adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing priorities. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is key to providing outstanding patient care.
