What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care in the operating room, including surgical prep, assisting during procedures, and post-op care
• Support OR team with responsibilities for surgeries, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy
• Respond to on-call needs efficiently, arriving within 30 minutes of call-out if required
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Adapt to team needs, including float roles in other departments during low census periods
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and safety standards

What You Need

• Valid Louisiana RN license or compact license accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum of 1 year of OR experience
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a rural hospital setting

About the Assignment

This role is at a small rural hospital with a diverse, multi-disciplined staff. The OR RN is responsible for perioperative care, including surgery, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy. During the first week, there will be buddy call shifts to support orientation. Call responsibilities are one day per week and every fifth weekend, with a requirement to arrive promptly within 30 minutes of call. The unit may experience occasional trauma cases, and staff must be comfortable with emergency response coordination.
