Job Summary:
An established industrial company is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead an outside sales team and drive growth. The ideal candidate will have experience leading technical or industrial sales teams and selling complex B2B or engineered products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately eight outside sales professionals.
- Drive new business development and growth within existing accounts.
- Develop sales strategies, territory plans, and account-growth initiatives.
- Conduct customer visits, sales ride-alongs, and regular field engagement.
- Improve pipeline management, forecasting, accountability, and sales performance.
- Build relationships with key customers and supplier partners.
- Support complex sales opportunities, negotiations, and customer applications.
- Partner with engineering and operations to develop customer solutions.
- Manage pricing, margins, forecasting, and overall sales performance.
- Identify cross-selling and market-growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience leading outside sales teams.
- Experience in industrial, technical, engineered products, or industrial distribution.
- Proven experience coaching and developing sales professionals.
- Strong new business development and account-growth experience.
- Experience working with manufacturing, industrial, OEM, or MRO customers.
- Experience with pricing, margins, forecasting, and sales performance management.
- Ability to understand technical products and work with engineering teams.
- Strong customer and supplier relationship management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with motion control, automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, or related products.
- Experience leading sales teams in industrial distribution or engineered products.
- Experience with CRM, pipeline management, and sales forecasting.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Location: Greater Milwaukee Area, Wisconsin
Travel: Approximately 25–30% overnight travel throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. Company vehicle provided.
