Line Cook

Responsibilities Accurately cook meats, fish, vegetables, sauces, soups, and other hot food products to order and according to recipe. Portion food products before cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications. Close and open the kitchen properly and follow appropriate checklists for kitchen stations. Record hot and cold food holding temperatures in appropriate logs. Assist with food prep assignments during off‑peak periods, as needed. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, oven, flat top, steam tables, dishwashing, and refrigeration equipment. Stock, store, and organize all food and wares by health‑code standards. Know and comply with health code, established systems, policies, checklists, food standards, quality, consistency, and general safety. Rotate food items and communicate expired items, low inventory, waste, and any other stock issues to kitchen management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience in a restaurant environment with a strong understanding of food knowledge, health code, proper knife handling, and other core safety issues. A well‑organized and self‑directed individual who is a team player. Exceptional time‑management skills in a fast‑paced and changing environment. Demonstrates creativity and originality. Ability to coordinate with other departments according to schedule. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements Frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Frequent talking, hearing, and smelling. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 55 lbs. Frequent reaching with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Office, Remote Travel 0%-10% Compensation and Benefits Starting wage range: $21.75 per hour.
