We are looking for a Diesel Service Technician to help support that mission.JOB SUMMARYThe Diesel Service Technician is responsible for the In-Shop floor technical assistance for mechanics, repairs and service/maintenance as directed by the Service Foreman.RESPONSIBILITIESPerform service and maintenance on all makes and models of heavy-duty trucksUse of OEM diagnostic software to perform repairs in line with dealer and manufacturer specificationsPerform heavy-duty engine swings, transmission replacements, air brake services and chassis repairsIn-depth repair of engine and transmission-related components (Training provided!)In-frame overhaul of heavy-duty engines to include gear train inspection, cylinder head replacement, piston and connecting rod replacement and main bearing replacement to factory specificationsRebuilding of Allison transmissions in dedicated overhaul areaOperation of state-of-the-art engine, transmission and chassis dynos to aid in diagnostics and ensure correct operation following repairsClock on to work ordersRepair various components of on-highway vehiclesPosition and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.Troubleshoot and DiagnoseInspect, operate and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities and conformance to customer specificationsPerforms repairs as directed by the Service ForemanComplete all timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobsComplete all paperwork necessary to perform repairs as directedOther responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of managementGreat BenefitsHighly Competitive PayMedical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance401k with company matchPaid Time OffPaid Certification TrainingOpportunity for advancementQUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED required. A technical school certificate in related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Welding/Fabrication preferredA minimum of two (2) years of related experience in manual fabrication from blueprint specifications. Must have experience using both standard and metric measuresA good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functionsStrong diagnostic skillsAbility to consistently repair components and equipment in line with dealer and manufacturers, flat-rate time standardsStrong mechanical skillsGood verbal and written communications skillsCommitment to maintaining an orderly and safe working environmentWORK CONDITIONSPhysical Demands/Work Environment:This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
