Veterinary Medical Director (DVM) - Westland, MI

A veterinary hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead its clinical team and oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and practicing advanced medicine in a collaborative environment. This role combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with leadership duties, allowing you to shape medical standards, support team development, and drive overall hospital success.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, treatment planning, and surgical procedures
Establish and maintain medical protocols and standards of care
Mentor veterinarians and clinical staff to support professional growth
Ensure compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate medical records and oversee quality of care
Build strong client relationships through communication and education
Support hospital performance, team engagement, and clinical outcomes

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
Active veterinary license in good standing (or eligibility)
3-5+ years of clinical experience (leadership experience preferred)
Strong clinical, surgical, and diagnostic skills
Proven leadership and team management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
