Location: Tualatin, OR
Pay Range: $27.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on years of experience, employment longevity, and certification.

POSITION OVERVIEW

MyTeam Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Triage Medical Assistant to join a specialty healthcare team in Tualatin, Oregon.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in patient care, clinical experience and knowledge, and administrative support within a fast-paced healthcare environment, along with a minimum of three (3) years of current Medical Assistant experience.

This is an administrative role requiring a Medical Assistant with clinical experience.

In this role, the Triage Medical Assistant will determine patient needs using established clinical protocols, prioritize patient concerns appropriately, and help ensure an efficient workflow throughout the clinic.

This position plays a vital role in delivering timely, high-quality, and compassionate patient care while maintaining compliance with safety standards, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certification: Medical Assistant certification, such as CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA), or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of current Medical Assistant experience.
• Strong computer skills within a Microsoft environment.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and strong documentation proficiency.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Communication & Triage

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients via telephone and EMR patient portal.
• Ensure proper punctuation and grammar for effective communication with providers and staff.
• Formulate symptom management responses quickly and calmly, including scheduling appointments on the spot, filling orders at the time, submitting prescriptions immediately, and effectively utilizing a "one-touch" system.
• Respond to patient calls, including voicemails, and prioritize incoming patient messages based on triage needs, ensuring patient concerns are routed appropriately to the correct source.
• Answer a minimum of 40 inbound calls per day.
• Research patient records appropriately through the EMR and patient portal to ensure a clear understanding of patient needs.
• Perform all callbacks as requested by the clinical team, patients, and providers.

Medical Records & Documentation

• Document all patient communications in the medical record, ensuring compliance with regulations, certification standards, and legal and ethical standards in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist Medical Records with completing leave paperwork as needed, including but not limited to:
• • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA)
  • Short-Term Disability (STD)
  • Oregon Paid Family Leave

Prescription & Clinical Support

• Evaluate the need for prescription refills, medication effectiveness, or medication changes, and submit prescriptions when appropriate.
• Take the initiative to request signing rights when needed.
• Provide clinical support when needed.
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
