Food Services: Full-time Morning/Day Server

Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, a college-prep, private, boarding school located in Faribault, Minnesota is seeking a full-time server.  School year hours are Sunday-Thursday 5:30am to 2:00pm.  Summer hours vary.  

The SSM kitchen has an open design, featuring cooking stations with customizable concepts such as made-to-order pasta, stir-fry stations, omelet bars and special diet stations. All with visible food preparation. Starting pay is $14.38/hour.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or a G.E.D. required
• Experience in food handling and/or restaurant industry
• Ability to communicate to students, faculty and staff with social sensitivity, courtesy, and tactfulness
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
• Able to work as part of a TEAM is a busy kitchen atmosphere
• Must be authorized to work in the US and pass criminal background check

Physical Job Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 100% of shift)
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 40 pounds
• Manual dexterity to handle serving utensils, trays, and equipment safely
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, steam, and food service equipment
• Adequate vision to safely interact with students, staff, and kitchen operations
• Ability to respond to verbal instructions, kitchen timers, and safety signals in a noisy environment
• Ability to climb stairs or step stools occasionally
• Capacity to perform repetitive motions (scooping, chopping, stirring, plating, etc.)
