Department Manager

McDonald's

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee owns a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products, but is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. All employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling, are handled by the franchisee. McDonald’s USA has no control over employment decisions for this position. Responsibilities Managers lead shifts each week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience. Some managers also lead specific departments, managing assigned systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks, following up, and reporting results. The Guest Service Department Manager ensures crew and managers deliver a great customer experience, sales promotions are executed properly, all service staff are trained in procedures, and the Front Counter McCafé and Drive‑Thru areas are organized for efficient service. The Kitchen Department Manager is responsible for delivering high‑quality food quickly, maintaining food safety, controlling food cost, and ensuring all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new menu items. The People Department Manager hires qualified crew, trains them, schedules them to meet sales and profit goals, and ensures crew are recognized and motivated throughout their employment. Qualifications Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates should be positive team players with flexible schedules, enjoy a fast‑paced environment, and be 18 years or older to serve as a manager in our corporate‑owned restaurants.
