DescriptionPosition SummaryA insurance company is seeking a Business Systems Analyst II to support customer-facing annuity web applications and websites. This is a highly technical BSA role focused on systems analysis rather than traditional business analysis or project management.The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing applications, writing database queries, troubleshooting production issues, and partnering directly with developers to deliver secure web solutions across public-facing and authenticated user experiences.ResponsibilitiesGather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and development-ready specifications.Work closely with frontend, backend, QA, and integration teams throughout the SDLC.Analyze production issues using logs, data analysis, and database queries.Support customer-facing web applications, including pre-login and authenticated experiences.Coordinate requirements, resources, and project activities while avoiding a pure PM focus.Facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies and backlog refinement activities.Partner with QA to define test cases and validate solutions.Conduct functional testing and support UAT activities.Provide final business signoff and production readiness approval.Collaborate with API and integration teams to define data and system requirements.Required Qualifications5-8 years of Business Systems Analyst or Systems Analyst experience.Strong technical analysis background.Experience querying databases and troubleshooting application issues.Experience working with external-facing web applications.Strong Agile/Scrum experience.Ability to work directly with software developers and technical teams.Experience creating requirements documentation, functional specifications, and user stories.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Preferred QualificationsAzure DevOps (ADO) experience.PostgreSQL experience.Experience with ticketing and backlog management tools.Insurance or Financial Services industry experience.Experience leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot._________________________________________________________________________________ Excellent verbal and written communication skills on both business and technical subjects; possesses strong interview and meeting facilitation skills. This individual will meet with business stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Operations to understand and identify needs, capture, analyze and document requirements from a technology perspective.How you will make an impact: Analyze complex business problems, evaluate business needs, and clarify requirements, data, processes, and systems for complex technology projects. Work with Product Owner to refine backlog, prioritize use cases and drive understanding Develop solutions to complex problems, requiring the regular use of ingenuity and creativity, within the larger context of the business needs and objectives; coordinating with business areas, Digital Transformation teams and Technology on overlapping functions. Recommend scope, facilitate and participate in application design sessions, and aid in the development of system solutions. Prepare time estimates for completing features, and assist in overall scope definition, management and tracking.Facilitate the development process. Support user acceptance testing and adoption of changes through planning, test-scenario identification, communication, and execution. Coordinate testing and code promotions with developers, testers and DevOps engineers.Participate in problem resolution. Troubleshoots production problems and acts as liaison among business areas, Digital Transformation teams and Technology, keeps all parties informed of status, and coordinates problem resolution. The experience you will bring: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in an analytical field, computer science, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of systems analysis experience. Outside-the-box thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to deal with ambiguity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills on both business and technical subjects; possesses strong interview and meeting facilitation skills.Ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
