About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Neuro MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Strong neuro experience Proficiency with G-tubes Recent Epic experience NIHSS certification in hand Description: This position requires the Registered Nurse to work on a Neuro MedSurg unit with 20 beds. The nurse-patient ratios are 1:5-6 for floor patients. Common patient diagnoses include neurosciences, stroke, seizures, and postoperative spine cases. The RN is not required to have vent experience, as respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Monitoring is present on the unit and RNs are not required to read strips, as monitor techs handle this task. The nurse will collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors, who are available 24/7. There are nurse aides available on this unit to assist with patient care. The nurses will be required to work weekends, including holiday rotations. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary, including possible floating to other units as needed. Staff is required to dress in a combination of white and royal blue. Travelers should expect potential changes in their assigned shifts but work to maintain a consistent schedule.
