Job Summary & Responsibilities The Float Pool Nurse works in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care from admission to discharge, resulting in quality outcomes, patient safety and high patient satisfaction. The Float RN performs patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director in the following departments: Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, Infusion, Stress or PACU. Provide direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, all regulatory, facility and unit‑specific policy and procedure. Ensure high levels of communication with patients. Consult with nursing leadership as needed to achieve desired nursing outcomes. Document data in electronic records in real time. Demonstrate working knowledge of AIDET for each patient interaction. Maintain regular, reliable attendance to ensure the highest level of patient care. Follow hospital safety and quality standards and expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 2+ years critical care experience (ICU, ED, PACU) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date. Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) and graduation from a professional nursing school, BSN or ADN required. Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse or Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of employment start date.
