Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be comfortable managing heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, and insulin drips. Must be able to interpret telemetry strips.

At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on the resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year. Night shift will try to accommodate block scheduling.

Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4; MedSurg Tele 1:5-6. Cares for geriatric and ortho patients, including post-procedural cardiac patients, groin site care in stepdown, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4. Uses CPAP/BiPAP at night in MedSurg; BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow in PCU. Stepdown has monitors on the unit; monitor techs cover PCU and MedSurg Tele.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time, and travelers must be flexible. Standby may be required on overstaffed shifts for the full 12 hours, and clinicians can be called in at any point during that time.

Floating Requirements: First to float. Float pool covers ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU across both campuses, including ED inpatient holds. Assignment location is sent by text 2 hours prior to the start of the shift; campuses are about 20-25 minutes apart.
