Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with orthopedic experience to join a fast-paced unit. Nurses are responsible for managing the care of orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients, focusing on effective pain management and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patient conditions, administer medication, and manage pain effectively.
• Provide care for orthopedic, neuro spine, and surgical patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Float to other med-surg units as required to meet staffing needs.
• Manage patient ratios of 5-7:1, adjusting as necessary based on census.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience.
• BCLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• Valid RN license; NC or Compact license pending acceptance.
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
• Prior charge nurse experience and trauma level exposure are preferred.
