A major national labor union is seeking a Staff Attorney to join its legal team and report directly to the General Counsel. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney with commercial contracts experience to move in-house, leave billable-hour requirements behind, and take on a broad legal practice.

The organization is looking for an attorney experienced in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including vendor and technology contracts. The role also offers exposure to a wide range of labor, employment, regulatory, and organizational matters. Labor law experience is not required; the General Counsel will provide training and mentorship in this area.

The Staff Attorney will work on matters including:

• Commercial contracts and agreements
• Vendor and technology contracts
• Employment and labor matters
• Regulatory compliance and government filings
• Policy development and legal research
• Grievances and arbitration
• Internal organizational proceedings
• Outside counsel management

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, strong commercial contracts experience, and be admitted to the State Bar of Texas or able to obtain admission within six months of hire. Strong oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are important to the role. Attorneys with experience in employment law, transactional law, civil litigation, or grievance arbitration will also be considered.

The position is based in Dallas, Texas, with in-office days generally on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The organization offers medical coverage with an employee cost of just $16–$31 per month and 401(k) contributions of up to 10.5% of pay, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
