Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy andobjectivesof Lakeside Behavioral Health and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. The Registered nurse prescribes,coordinatesand delegates nursing careutilizingthe nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatmentteamplan of care. The Registered nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis andis responsible forpromoting and enhancing professional nursingpracticeon the unit. The Registered Nurse may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.BSNpreferred.

Experience: One-year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners as aregistered nurse.

Knowledge: Mustpossessknowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes,therapeuticrelationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting,crisisand behaviormanagement and CPR training.
