FT RN On-Call Runner- Nights

Role Overview RN, Nights and Weekends – Provides after‑hours field visits to patients, families, and community partners. Works Monday‑Thursday 6pm‑8am on call as a runner in Lake County and Sumpter County with a sign‑on bonus and benefits from day1. Key Responsibilities Make after‑hours visits to patients in homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospitals within the assigned affiliate territory. Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members, patients/families, and referral resources. Assess patients/families, identify immediate needs, and apply appropriate nursing interventions by phone and/or during visits. Provide compassionate customer service and direct care as part of an Interdisciplinary Group (IDG). Perform clinical skills—case management, physical assessment, intravenous therapies, pain medication titration, symptom management—and document per company policy. Educate patients, families, caregivers, and health professionals about disease progression, palliative interventions, and safety practices. Prioritize, consult, refer, and collaborate with other professionals to promote quality and continuity of care. Report changes in patient condition to appropriate IDG members or other health professionals. Attend patient deaths, prepare bodies for transport, oversee disposal of medications, and offer bereavement support. Complete documentation per policy and procedure and provide timely clinical communication using SBAR. Respond to emergencies (e.g., hurricanes) by reporting to designated locations and staying overnight when required. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Current RN license in the state where employment will occur. Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience; hospice or hospital experience preferred. Previous experience with an EMR/EHR system. Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; reliable transportation to meet patient needs. Excellent critical decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills. Strong clinical and assessment skills, including the ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms. Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and calmly with exceptional customer service. Skilled in computer operations; proficiency in Microsoft Office, online research, data entry, and navigation. Physical ability to lift patients/equipment, bend, push/pull, kneel, and perform sedentary work with frequent interruptions. Active BLS certification for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red Cross. Additional Requirements Consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment and ongoing compliance with the Drug‑Free Workplace Policy.
