Neonatologist for Level 4 NICU AdventHealth for Children - Orlando, Florida

Neonatologist – Level 4 NICU, AdventHealth for Children (Orlando, FL) We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and hardworking neonatologist to join our group at the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children located in downtown Orlando. Our team includes nearly 20 neonatologists, 4 neonatal hospitalists, and over 20 neonatal nurse practitioners. We recently expanded our NICU into a newly built, beautiful, state‑of‑the‑art facility in 2017. We currently have 102 neonatal beds at AdventHealth for Children. We also have five other Level II NICUs in hospitals around Central Florida that are staffed by our own neonatologists. Our regional network includes an obstetric delivery volume of approximately 15,000 births per year. Over the last couple of years we have expanded our Maternal‑Fetal Medicine program, congenital heart surgery program, and built a pediatric and neonatal ECMO program. We have a dedicated neonatal transport team and are supported by experienced pediatric subspecialists. We are very active in quality improvement programs and clinical research, with several multi‑center extramurally funded projects, and a very active neonatal simulation program. We have an independent general pediatric residency program. Residents rotate through the NICU, and we participate actively in their training and education. We have received ACGME accreditation to start our Neonatology Fellowship Program in 2026. AdventHealth for Children has been recognized by the U.S. News & World Report for the last eight years. In 2024, AdventHealth for Children was nationally recognized as the best Children’s Hospital for newborn care in Florida and #32 for Neonatology in the Best Children’s Hospital rankings. Requirements Board certified in pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine. Post‑fellowship experience preferred but not essential. Interest and demonstrated experience in clinical research, teaching, quality improvement projects, and ECMO desirable. Hospital Description Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full‑service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 pediatric ICU beds with a dedicated pediatric CICU, a 102‑bed NICU, a 17‑bed pediatric emergency department, and a statewide pediatric network and transport system. Our comprehensive pediatric open‑heart program began in 2012 and has a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have key destination programs, including our level IV epilepsy program, the region’s only bone marrow transplant and solid organ transplant programs (kidney and liver), and we increased the Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017. Our network includes 30 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center, totaling over 15,000 births, and several highly successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics. These 30 hospitals refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando. Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida.
