In this Mission Support Specialist (Generalist) role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security individuals involved in planning and carrying out a wide variety of mission support, administrative management, and program planning activities related to the missions and functions of the agency.

This position starts at a salary of $89,508.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $116,362.00 (GS-12, Step 10).

Typical duties of this assignment include:

• Providing senior level advice on staffing, finance, logistics, and other general administrative matters.
• Participating and contributing to management decisions in assigned program areas.
• Applying a wide range of concepts, laws, policies, practices, and analytical diagnostic methods and techniques to address substantive complex issues, problems, and sensitive matters.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Briefing staff on various budget issues.
• Calculating projections to ensure adequate funding has been allocated to cover all expenses.
• Managing and administering premium pays, overtime, and leave entitlements.
• Providing guidance on interpretation and implementation of new and revised legislation, policies, regulations and procedures.

You must:

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
