Position Overview

This role involves performing a variety of housekeeping and janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions in patient care areas, administrative offices, and public spaces. The position is essential for maintaining a safe and healthy environment within a healthcare setting located in a regional area of the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to unit-based safety and infection control protocols.
• Clean and upkeep assigned areas following established standards.
• Ensure safety at all times, including proper use of wet floor signs.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment and practice proper hand hygiene consistently.
• Understand responsibilities during emergency or disaster situations.
• Clean discharge and occupied rooms according to departmental training guidelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain compliance with hospital requirements such as annual TB skin tests, fit testing, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial work is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and solutions, demonstrating knowledge of proper handling and sanitation standards.
• Capability to complete on-the-job training, including operation of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and labels, and communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare staff.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

All candidates must successfully pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screening, and background checks prior to employment. Compliance with regional COVID-19 vaccination requirements is mandatory.
