As a full-time therapist within our psychiatrist outpatient MD office, you will play a key role in facilitating recovery journeys through evidence-based therapeutic practices, thus impacting the lives of those in our community.

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the specific needs, strengths, and goals of individuals entering substance use disorder treatment, setting the groundwork for effective intervention.

  • Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based approaches, ensuring a structured framework for therapy.

  • Deliver one-on-one counseling using motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to support clients in navigating their recovery.

  • Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that promote shared learning, peer support, and community among individuals at various recovery stages.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and other healthcare professionals to promote integrated care and comprehensive support.

  • Provide immediate crisis intervention, assisting clients during substance-related emergencies with sensitivity and professionalism.

  • Educate clients and their families about addiction, relapse prevention strategies, and available community resources, fostering a supportive recovery network.

  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of client progress in adherence with ethical and legal standards.

  • Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices.

  • Integrate the latest research and techniques in substance use disorder treatment into daily practice to enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals dealing with substance use disorders, including veterans and other community members confronting addiction challenges. You will create a nurturing environment that encourages client engagement and fosters resilience as they work towards recovery. Understanding their unique histories and triggers will be vital in providing tailored support and guidance.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • \n
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC in the state of California.
  • \n
  • A robust understanding of substance use disorders and a passion for implementing evidence-based treatment practices.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering both individual and group therapy within the framework of addiction treatment.
  • \n
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with diverse populations in a non-judgmental, empathetic manner.

Preferred Experience\n

  • At least three years of professional experience in a clinical setting focusing on substance use disorder treatment.

  • Proficiency in utilizing therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and harm reduction approaches.

  • Experience working with veterans or underrepresented communities facing addiction and mental health issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
