Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant (MA-C) plays a vital role in supporting outpatient adult cardiology clinics by rooming patients, preparing charts, answering patient inquiries via phone and patient portals, and processing necessary paperwork. The role requires proficiency with healthcare terminology, BLS certification, and experience with Epic electronic health records. The Medical Assistant collaborates closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth and efficient patient care delivery in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Responsibilities:

• Room patients and prepare them for clinical examinations.
• Prepare and update patient charts accurately and timely.
• Respond to patient questions via phone and electronic patient portals.
• Process and manage patient paperwork as required by clinic protocols.
• Assist clinicians by floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs as necessary.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and charting.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare compliance standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential (MA-R not accepted).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant healthcare experience.
• Proficiency in healthcare terminology and adult outpatient clinical settings.
• Experience using Epic electronic health records system.
• Reliable personal transportation for commuting to the facility.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in cardiology or specialty outpatient clinics.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to adapt and float within clinical scope as needed.

Special Considerations:

• Locals only; traveler candidates must have reliable transportation.
• No on-call requirements for this role.
• Strict adherence to attendance policies; no call/no show will disqualify candidate from future opportunities across the health system.
• Temporary to permanent position.
• Must confirm availability for three scheduled interview times prior to submission.

Scheduling:

• Five 8-hour day shifts per week.
• No weekend shifts required.
• Shift schedule may be subject to change based on clinic needs and RTO policies.
