Required Skills & Experience Sunstate is a proud Second Chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case‑by‑case basis. A minimum of 4 years’ experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment or rental background required. Proficient troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems required. Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains is required. Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $10,000+ in value. Having mechanic experience working on industrial pumps, power equipment, and HVAC is a plus! Having a TWIC or Safety Council OSHA Basic Plus certification is preferred, will need to obtain if not held. Basic computer knowledge for service work orders, parts ordering, and service related tasks. Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications. Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating. Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW). Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records. Team‑player, you work well supporting your team to achieve goals.
