Staff Software Engineer, Trading Services Scala

Salary: $150,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• We are looking for 8+ years of software development experience with reactive, message-driven, distributed near real-time applications, ideally in a high-performance, low-latency setting.
• We need 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Scala or similar JVM-based languages.
• We value familiarity with functional programming concepts.
• We expect experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform, with an emphasis on scalability and high availability.
• We look for familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable solutions.
• We require strong troubleshooting, debugging, and diagnostic capability for cloud and web technologies using standard observability tools and frameworks.
• We need a deep understanding of modern distributed systems and the ability to troubleshoot WebSockets, TLS, DNS, TCP/IP, and related protocols.
• We value a dependable team player with a strong work ethic, excellent accuracy, and solid analytical and problem-solving skills, especially around performance analysis and optimization.
• We expect full ownership of projects from design through implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and iteration, with a focus on delivering production-ready software.
• We require strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively, openness to feedback, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

• We design, develop, and maintain our Scala- and Akka-based trading platform running on Kubernetes in the cloud.
• We architect, deploy, and manage backend services in Kubernetes to support scalability, availability, and resilience.
• We enhance our services architecture for trading applications to improve modularity and maintainability.
• We build distributed systems that meet the high-performance and low-latency demands of trading environments.
• We implement robust monitoring and logging solutions to observe and analyze backend performance in real time.
• We integrate backend systems with market data feeds to ensure accurate and timely information for trading activity.
• We collaborate with other engineering teams and Product Managers to deliver end-to-end customer solutions.
