Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Angiography with 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience and ARRT(R) certification.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology department performing angiography procedures
• 3 or 4 10-hour day shifts per week plus call
• On-call typically consists of 1 weekday shift per week and 1 weekend per month
• 40 hours per week
• Uses Epic charting system
• Assists with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, neph tube placements, biliary tube placements, and CT guided procedures including drains, biopsies, and ablations
• Performs Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures

Requirements

• 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience required
• ARRT(R) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required, must not expire prior to start
• Active state license required if applicable
• Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment
• Demonstrates competency in patient care, patient identification protocols, and infection control/sterile techniques
• Demonstrates experience in radiography, angiography procedures, and operating imaging equipment
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team
• Ability to recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately
• Demonstrates ability to provide life support in emergency situations
• Demonstrates proper use of body mechanics during procedures
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to Angio lab policies and Scope of Practice documents
• Operates IR equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images
• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment
• Provides patient education and addresses patient/family concerns
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions
• Coordinates patient care and communicates with other providers following procedures
• Sutures or removes sheath and applies pressure to obtain hemostasis at end of procedure
• Maintains work area and stocks necessary supplies
• Transports patients as needed
• Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
