Employee will assist the PI and her team in federally funded research and may take on an independent research project. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Familiar with basic laboratory technique and safety. Excellent organizational and notetaking skills. Demonstrate a commitment to working for an organization that values and promotes humanism. Required Qualifications Work study eligible student in good standing at COMP -Northwest. Preferred Qualifications Interest in gaining laboratory research experience. Describe Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties of the position are normally performed in a typical laboratory setting. While performing the duties in this setting the employee is regularly exposed to disinfectants and other toxic or caustic chemicals, lab animal allergens, occasionally exposed to moving heavy pieces of equipment (racks, hoods), and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in this setting is usually moderate.
