Summary About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Interview candidates for vacancies and recommend selection. Oversee subordinate staff to ensure that work meets deadlines. Assist in investigating work-related problems to identify causes. Clarify instructions to subordinates for completing work assignments. Adjust plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to meet mission requirements. Assist subordinates with new procedures for implementation mandated by supervisors. Inspect systems to ensure the systems, vehicle, and/or equipment meets production standards. Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available so that heavy mobile equipment work can be accomplished. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Inspector Supervisor without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Inspector Supervisor duties of explaining the proper tools, equipment, or parts that is required for the repairs. Demonstrate how to interpret guides such as blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to perform functions of parts or systems; provide quality control review inspections on performed repairs on heavy mobile equipment vehicles; and illustrate troubleshooting analysis to diagnose malfunctions. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
