About the Role We are seeking a talented and experienced architect, with 10+ years of experience, who can operate with depth in both design leadership and technical delivery. This position is well suited for someone who brings strong design vision, construction knowledge, and the ability to lead and mentor across project phases. Depending on your background and strengths, this role may be defined as Project Architect or Senior Designer. What matters most is a genuine commitment to thoughtful work and collaborative practice. Position Responsibilities In this role, you will serve as a key leader, leading projects from concept through construction, shaping design direction, and supporting technical excellence across the team. Lead design development from early concept through project realization, shaping architectural ideas that respond to client goals, site conditions, and community context. Develop and coordinate construction documents, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with design intent. Oversee quality control reviews for drawings and specifications. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of construction materials, systems, detailing, and building codes. Lead projects through jurisdictional approvals and permitting processes. Coordinate and collaborate with consultants, engineers, and specialty disciplines. Support project managers with scope, schedule, and budget oversight. Participate in construction administration, including submittal review, RFIs, site visits, and resolution of field conditions. Develop design concepts, diagrams, and presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders. Participate in client meetings, workshops, and design discussions. Mentor emerging professionals and contribute to a collaborative studio culture. Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams, both verbally and in writing. Desired Qualifications and Skills Professional degree in Architecture. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in an architectural office. Current architectural licensure (Washington preferred or ability to obtain). Demonstrated ability to lead or significantly contribute to design and technical production across multiple project phases. Experience with public sector projects strongly preferred. Strong design portfolio showing conceptual thinking, spatial clarity, and built work. Comprehensive understanding of all phases of the architectural process. Proficiency with Revit and visualization software is a plus. Strong organizational skills and effective time management. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
