WestLift is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Customer Service Representative (CSR) to develop and grow customer relationships throughout Eastern North Carolina. This is a sales-oriented position focused on expanding our service business, building recurring revenue through preventative maintenance programs, identifying repair opportunities, and selling allied material handling products. The ideal candidate understands that strong customer relationships create long-term business opportunities. You’ll work directly with customers to identify their needs, recommend solutions, and help keep their equipment and operations running efficiently. You’ll also partner closely with WestLift’s Territory Manager to identify and develop forklift and equipment sales opportunities while taking ownership of service and allied product growth within your territory. Key Responsibilities Develop new business and expand existing customer relationships throughout the assigned territory. Sell preventative maintenance (PM) programs that help customers reduce unexpected downtime and extend equipment life. Identify and develop opportunities for equipment repairs, planned maintenance, and long-term service agreements. Follow up on service recommendations, repair quotes, and maintenance needs to convert opportunities into revenue. Work with WestLift’s service department to coordinate customer needs and deliver dependable support. Build recurring revenue through service contracts and ongoing maintenance relationships. Allied Products & Material Handling Solutions Identify, promote, and sell products that complement WestLift’s service and material handling business, including: Industrial batteries and battery-related solutions. Battery chargers and charging systems. Warehouse racking and storage solutions. Forklift attachments and related equipment accessories. Other allied products that support material handling, warehousing, and industrial operations. The CSR will be responsible for identifying customer needs, developing opportunities, preparing or coordinating quotes, and following through to close allied product sales. Identify potential forklift replacement, expansion, and new equipment opportunities. Work collaboratively with the Territory Manager responsible for forklift sales, including Classes I, II, IV, and V. Introduce the Territory Manager to qualified prospects and help coordinate the sales process. Maintain strong customer relationships and look for opportunities to support the customer’s broader material handling needs. Territory & Account Development Develop a consistent presence throughout Wilmington, Greenville, New Bern, and surrounding Eastern North Carolina markets. Prospect for new customers through calls, customer visits, referrals, and relationship-building. Maintain regular contact with existing accounts to uncover additional service and product opportunities. Build relationships with business owners, fleet managers, maintenance supervisors, warehouse managers, and operations leaders. Maintain organized customer records, track sales opportunities, and consistently follow up on open quotes. Manage time and territory activities to maximize customer engagement and sales results. Qualifications Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills. A sales-driven mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and close business. Self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through. Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory for customer visits and prospecting. Previous experience in outside sales, service sales, industrial equipment, material handling, automotive or truck service, or a related industry is preferred. Industry experience is beneficial, but we are also interested in candidates with strong sales ability, a positive attitude, and the drive to learn our products and services.
