2026 NFL Films Fall Internship Program

Internship Program Overview The NFL Films Internship Program is a paid learning experience in sports television and film. Interns work in one department for the duration of the internship (fall 2026 to February 2027) and receive mentorship, seminars, and hands‑on experience in all phases of production. Internship Duration and Schedule Fall 2026 Internship Session: Monday, August 24, 2026 – Friday, February 12, 2027. Location: On‑site required at NFL office or stadium. Full days, Monday‑Friday. No hybrid or remote option. Requirements and Eligibility Applicants must be current college students (rising seniors or recent graduates) enrolled in a full‑time program, pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with minimum GPA 3.0. Position Descriptions CREATIVE PRODUCING (Long‑form Storytelling) Responsibilities: Research story history, schedule interviews, direct shoots, edit, script narration, log footage, perform light editing, and participate in on‑location or in‑house shoots. Qualifications: Interest in long‑form storytelling, familiarity with editing software, ability to craft football stories, and willingness to learn from Emmy‑Award‑winning producers.

CREATIVE PRODUCING: SOCIAL MEDIA

Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of NFL Films’ social media channels, produce short‑form video content, track platform analytics, and assist in brand promotion. Qualifications: Experience with Premiere or Avid, strong social media proficiency, and desire to keep pace with dynamic social media trends.

STUDIO SHOW PRODUCING: FOOTBALL ANALYSIS

Responsibilities: Build and edit a weekly live‑to‑tape show, review and analyze coaching tape, create segments for on‑air talent, and produce promotional content for social media. Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Xs & Os, video editing experience, strong football background, and ability to communicate detailed offensive/defensive schemes.

STUDIO PRODUCTION & AUDIO/VIDEOGRAPHIC ENGINEERING

Responsibilities: Maintain and support edit rooms, recording studios, control rooms, and shooting stages; work with live television crews and assist in studio-based shows and ENG shoots. Qualifications: Technical aptitude for post‑production equipment, willingness to learn, and hands‑on experience with broadcast studio operations.

POST‑PRODUCTION VIDEO EDITING & COLOR GRADING

Responsibilities: Assemble, color‑correct, and finish content for broadcast partners across documentaries, b‑roll, and social media posts. Qualifications: Proficiency in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve; experience with Adobe Suite and color grading.

AUDIO ENGINEERING & TELEVISION MIXING

Responsibilities: Assist with studio mixing, live shoot audio setup, music editing, and on‑location recording sessions; learn to transfer legacy audio to digital formats. Qualifications: Familiarity with BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve, Fairlight DAW, and audio studio equipment; strong interest in post‑production audio.

FIELD ACQUISITION – LOCATION CAMERA / AUDIO

Responsibilities: Work with cinematographers and sound teams on NFL‑Films‑style productions, light and shoot on location, and assist with camera and sound equipment handling. Qualifications: Basic on‑location production knowledge, experience with camera and sound equipment, and background in sports or documentary filmmaking.

ARCHIVAL VIDEO EDITING & RESEARCH

Responsibilities: Research and compile footage for external clients, choose appropriate shots, and create compilation reels. Qualifications: Prior editing experience, proficiency with Adobe Premiere, and strong research and communication skills.

FIELD OPERATIONS

Responsibilities: Make crew calls, arrange travel, obtain permits, coordinate logistics, and manage online systems for production schedules. Qualifications: Basic film knowledge, excellent organizational and multi‑tasking skills.

FOOTAGE RIGHTS & CLEARANCES

Responsibilities: Research and acquire third‑party footage, negotiate clearances, coordinate with legal and project managers, and finalize paperwork. Qualifications: Strong communication, organized, capable of managing multiple projects independently or as part of a team.

MUSIC CLEARANCE & LICENSING

Responsibilities: Research music, clear songs for NFL/NFL Media use, track releases in spreadsheets, and coordinate with labels and publishers. Qualifications: Interest in music business, excellent communication and organizational skills.

FOOTAGE LICENSING

Responsibilities: Assist in licensing NFL footage to third‑party clients, manage database tasks, and complete paperwork. Qualifications: Strong communication, organization, experience with AirTable a plus.

PRODUCTION BUDGETING & MANAGEMENT

Responsibilities: Shadow a project manager, manage budgeting tasks, process timecards and invoices, enter details in purchase order system, and review expense reports. Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, organized, basic understanding of production equipment and budget processes. PLAYER & TALENT RELATIONS – TALENT & INTERVIEW COORDINATION Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate shoots, interviews and voice‑overs, maintain calendars, coordinate travel, and disseminate contracts and releases. Qualifications: Knowledge of NFL players, excellent organization, strong communication skills.

BUSINESS AFFAIRS

Responsibilities: Review, draft, and negotiate agreements, perform production risk assessments, and support various departments. Qualifications: Minimum second‑year Law or MBA student with interest in media and entertainment law. Salary / Pay Range Hourly rate: $22.50 – $30.50 USD.
