This role is for a Development Technical Designer and the candidate will work closely with our design and product development team to bring the initial line to life for market as well as provide tech packs for production costing.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production
- Responsible for initial tech-packs, measurement, construction, sample tech-packs and production tech-packs
- Measure all samples to make sure they arrive on spec and as requested
- Communicate daily with overseas teams
- Work with overseas and domestic factories to get garments made correctly and on time
- Create and execute on the vision of the Design Director, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends, while defining the brand identity and overall business strategy
- Attend fittings with designer and take detailed notes
- Create and update line sketches for each season as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of technical designer experience in apparel industry (including garment construction experience and timelines for Woven’s + Cut and Sew Knits product categories.)
- Experience making Tech Packs in PLM platforms is required
- Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim and technical knowledge of fabric and construction.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator
- Experience working in CLO 3-D highly preferred
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly with exceptional follow-up skill.
- Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload and tasks
- Strong work ethic, able to self-motivate, work with cross functional teams when necessary and make call outs that displays efficiency for the teams and future endeavors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent.
The annual salary range for this full-time role is between $70,000 - $80,000 dependent on experience level.
