Armed Security Guard

The Armed Security Guard is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our security officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and employee rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near the assigned post, which may be a threat to the property, guests or employees at the site.

Receives direct supervision from management personnel; may assist other departmental employees in the performance of the job functions. Supervises other position(s). Frequently exercises discretion.

Responds to unusual or emergency situations at client's site using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established protocol.

Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.

Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process; precludes unauthorized access to facilities, and the conversion, theft or intentional destruction of physical assets.

Observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of the client's property and personnel.

Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.

Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.

Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking.

Patrols assigned site on foot; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations.

Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives or company management.

Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must have a valid D & G Licenses. (Must upload D License as additional documentation in application process)

Must have a firearm with valid permit.

Speak and write both English and Spanish fluently.

Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.

Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills.

Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions.

As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test.

As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty.

Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Remain flexible to ever changing environments; adapt well to different situations.

Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites.

Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.

Neat and professional appearance.

Ability to provide quality customer service.

Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently.

Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones.

Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment).

The ability to respond to common inquiries relating to the areas of service assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their fingers.

The employee may be required to frequently alternate between sitting and standing for short to prolonged periods of time.

The employee frequently is required to talk and/or hear, including the use of telephones and cellular devices.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

Must be able to hear and distinguish sounds such as machinery, telephones, and alarms.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in prioritizing projects delegated by the supervisor.

Physical presence in the office required to perform job duties.
