Veterinary Technician - Neurology Location: Scottsdale, AZ Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team. You will provide hands-on care, conduct laboratory tests, and support surgeries and diagnostic imaging, playing a key role in the care of our patients. Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on medications and additional treatments. Maintain relevant comprehensive medical records with practice systems. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas. Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience as a neurology veterinary technician. CVT/LVT/RVT preferred. Available for on-call rotation (required). Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client care. Self-motivated, ethical, and professional. Strong technical skills, including anesthesia and surgical assisting, post-operative care, and anesthetic patient monitoring (ASA I-III preferred). Experience running diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT/Radiology) and use of ventilators. Familiarity with common neurologic disease, neurologic surgery, and post-operative care. Able to obtain blood pressure, interpret basic ECG, SpO2, and EtCO2 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes. Collect laboratory samples (blood, urine, tissue) for testing and perform laboratory tests such as urinalyses and blood counts. Comfortable using digital radiography machines and advanced diagnostic equipment.
