Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)

Job Overview We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Pediatric Neurology multi-disciplinary team at Cortica. Nurse practitioners at Cortica are passionate members of the Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) team, providing care to children and families with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism. Responsibilities Complete thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments that incorporate each patient’s unique needs. Triage referrals for acute needs to other members of the Cortica team. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate a comprehensive plan of care. Utilize the nursing process and scientific reasoning to practice within the scope defined by the California Board of Nursing, including placing orders and screening tests in accordance with approved protocols. Provide accurate clinical documentation using the Electronic Medical Record system for all patient encounters. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams. Participate in annual performance reviews. Take advantage of multiple role opportunities: Cortica’s Welcome Visit – conduct telehealth visits that introduce families to the model and assess developmental and behavioral needs. Cortica Nurse Education Program – provide ongoing education to families on topics such as autism, sleep, medication management, and school systems. Cortica’s Nutrition Program – perform nutrition evaluations and dietary support in partnership with speech and occupational therapy teams. Cortica Medical Management Program – collaborate with neurologists and pediatricians to manage sleep, headaches, behavior, and medication. Qualifications Enthusiastic about transforming ASD/NDD care delivery. Warm, compassionate, and effective communicator with excellent listening skills. Experience in pediatric or family nurse practitioner practice, with a minimum of 12 months in an outpatient setting; preference for behavioral neurology, Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM), and pediatric behavior disorders. Knowledgeable regarding diagnoses and therapies for Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Headaches, Insomnia, Epilepsy, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Proficiency in ADIR/ADOS diagnostic evaluation. Telemedicine skillset, including use of EMR, virtual wait rooms, and simultaneous technology platforms. Active RN and NP license in practice state, Board Certification (AANP or ANCC), and eligibility for payor credentialing. Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures, word processing, file management, form design, and office terminology. Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Desire to work with pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental conditions and to serve as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team. Compensation The base pay range for this position is $60.43 to $75.53 per hour, adjusted for skill level, experience, education, and location.
