Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg/Telemetry

Location: Ottumwa, IA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 07:00 - 19:00

Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surg/Telemetry department is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a primarily adult population. The nurse will work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care delivery. The position requires a commitment to excellence and adherence to best practices in nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered care and manage patient needs effectively.
• Administer medications and conduct assessments to monitor patient conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Educate patients and families about health management and recovery processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license in Iowa.
• Must have 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a Med/Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Mandatory reporter certification for child and adult abuse.
• BLS certification required; ACLS is a plus but not required.
• Successful completion of a 10-panel drug screening including opiates.
• Background checks must be cleared prior to start, including Iowa-specific checks.
