We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer that uses strong machine design fundamentals and integrate them with out-of-the-box creative ideas to create unique automated machines that meet or exceed our customer and internal specifications. What You'll Do:
Develop innovative and advanced machine concepts based on customer and internal specifications.
Design, using SolidWorks or equivalent software, complete layout of machine including detailed drawings of all components.
* Evaluate and specify materials and finishes on manufactured parts.
* Work closely with suppliers and vendors to research, quote and purchase integrated machine components.
* Work closely with project managers to monitor project schedules and assist with adjustments as needed.
* Work quickly and collaboratively to solve machine design challenges throughout the project lifecycle, using best practices and common design elements.
* Participate and/or lead internal and customer design reviews and status updates.
* Create detailed drawings, assembly drawings, bill of materials and organize release packages.
* Support machine building process from assembly, de-bug and acceptance testing and through potential on-site customer installations with start-up support and customer training.
What We're Looking For:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience is required.
* Strong knowledge of machine design and mechanical components as it relates to factory automation.
* Strong knowledge of 3D CAD software; experience with SolidWorks is required.
* Strong decision making and communication skills.
* Ability to coordinate with a project team and collaborate with other departments.
* Ability and willingness to travel to support projects, up to 10%.
