Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / Family Nurse Practitioner

Location: Evansville, IN

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday - No weekends

Role Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join an inpatient behavioral health setting serving individuals with acute psychiatric and behavioral health needs. In this role, you'll provide psychiatric and primary healthcare services, collaborate closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams, and support patients through assessment, medication management, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric and/or primary healthcare services including assessments, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment planning.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies including lab work, EKGs, EEGs, X-rays, and other clinical testing.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Indiana practice guidelines and DEA/CSR requirements.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, admission and discharge planning, and ongoing patient care coordination.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including psychiatric evaluations, progress notes, medication reconciliation, and treatment updates.
• Provide consultation, education, and clinical direction to nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
• Respond to psychiatric or medical emergencies, including providing CPR and crisis intervention when needed.
• Assist with staff training, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives within the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) .
• Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Valid DEA and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) required.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles, inpatient behavioral health care, and psychopharmacology.
• Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary treatment teams and respond effectively in emergency situations.
• CPR certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
