DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL 2 (DSP2)

  DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL YEAR 1 AND 2 CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

STAR, Inc. has been servicing the Torrance, CA area since 1974, with five homes caring for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are looking for individuals that are passionate about caring for others. Our Staff and clients are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Starting Salary is $18.50 per hour

Annual bonus potential

Qualifications:

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Year 1 and Year 2 certifications (REQUIRED)

CPR Certification (preferred but can be completed after employment)

Clearances: TB test and health screening, LiveScan and criminal background clearance are all required. (Company will assist with clearances if needed)

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form

Ability to respect confidentiality of all clients, staff, and facility records

Valid driver’s license REQUIRED, you will use company vans to drive clients to appointments, day programs, and scheduled activities.

Ability to organize workload and provide excellent service and care.

Experience:

Direct Support Professional: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:  

Driver's License and good driving record (REQUIRED)
Direct Support Professional Year 1 credential (REQUIRED)
Direct Support Professional Year 2 credential (REQUIRED)
