Critical Care Intensivist
Locations: Pomona & Atlantic City, New Jersey
AtlantiCare is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Critical Care Intensivist to join our growing ICU program serving two hospital campuses in southeastern New Jersey.
This is a high-acuity, collaborative ICU practice supported by advanced cardiovascular, neurologic, and surgical services across a growing regional health system.
Physicians in this role will care for a broad spectrum of critically ill patients in a team-based, protocol-driven environment with strong multidisciplinary support and expanding academic opportunities.
Clinical EnvironmentICU coverage spans two hospital campuses:
Mainland Campus (Pomona, NJ)AtlantiCare Mainland Campus Hospital
- High-acuity medical and surgical ICU services
- Advanced cardiac care program including ECMO and mechanical circulatory support
- Cardiothoracic surgery and advanced heart failure support
- Busy consult-based critical care model
AtlantiCare City Campus Hospital
- Level II Trauma Center
- Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Neuroscience ICU and neurosurgical collaboration
- High-acuity medical and neurocritical care services
- Full-spectrum ICU practice across two campuses
- ECMO and advanced cardiac support program (including Impella and RVAD systems)
- Strong neurology and neurosurgery collaboration for complex neurocritical care
- Multidisciplinary ICU team with cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, and neurosurgery support
- Protocol-based care pathways for sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, and neurologic emergencies
- Dedicated ICU advanced practice provider (APP) support
- Opportunities to participate in quality improvement and clinical innovation initiatives
- Provide comprehensive critical care for medically and surgically complex ICU patients
- Manage multi-organ failure, shock states, and respiratory failure
- Participate in ECMO and advanced cardiac support management
- Care for neurocritical patients including stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, and seizures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across both hospital campuses
- Participate in ICU protocols, quality initiatives, and clinical governance
- Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students
- Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered ICU care
- MD/DO, Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Critical Care Medicine
(Pulmonary/Critical Care, Internal Medicine Critical Care, or Anesthesia Critical Care) - Experience in high-acuity ICU care preferred (new fellows considered)
- Comfortable with complex multi-system critical illness
- Interest in teamwork, protocol-driven care, and system-based practice
- Interest in teaching and clinical development
