Location: Longmont, CO

Shift: 2-2-3 Schedule | 12 Hour Shifts (Days or Nights)

Pay: $44-47/hr (DOE)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring production equipment runs safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and automation equipment while driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, electrical systems, and automation controls
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs (Studio5000/Logix5000), drives, and motion control systems
• Maintain and support SCADA systems (FactoryTalk ME/SE) and Ethernet/IP networks
• Execute equipment changeovers, sanitation activities, and support production uptime
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, prints, and manuals for diagnostics and repair
• Support and enforce GMP, safety, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Document maintenance activities, work orders, and improvement actions in CMMS systems
• Identify root causes of breakdowns and implement corrective/preventative solutions
• Train and mentor team members on electrical and instrumentation best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve safety, quality, and production performance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with:
• Electrical systems, PLCs, and automation controls
• Instrumentation, sensors, and industrial networks
• Power distribution systems in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with drives, motion control, and FactoryTalk systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Automation, or related field
• Experience in food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environments
• Knowledge of industrial networks, servers, and advanced automation systems
• Experience creating SOPs, job aids, and maintenance procedures

Work Environment

• Fast-paced food manufacturing facility with GMP standards
• 2-2-3 schedule (rotating workweek)
• Day shift: 5:30 AM – 6:30 PM | Night shift: 5:30 PM – 6:30 AM
• Exposure to:
• Hot and cold environments
• Moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection required)
• Moving machinery, platforms, and ladders

The pay range for this position is $92497.00 - $98737.00/yr.
