Physical Therapist

Department Overview The Physical Therapy department evaluates and treats children with a range of diagnoses, including gross motor development delay, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, and orthopedic injuries. They work in conjunction with interdisciplinary clinics, such as the Down syndrome clinic, and assist and train children and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment to promote independence. Position Summary Responsible for the evaluation and provision of physical therapy services to children, including the creation of written documentation and verbal communication necessary to administer care per provider orders. The role also involves training patients, families, caregivers, staff, and students; ensuring a safe, clean environment; maintaining departmental equipment; effectively managing time; and promoting satisfaction among patients, families, providers, and the department. Qualifications Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy program. Minnesota state licensure (temporary Minnesota state licensure accepted if accompanied by proof of passing the physical therapy board examination). BLS certification. Pediatric experience preferred.
