Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Martinsville, VA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ED experience and active Virginia or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work setting is a 220-bed acute-care hospital Emergency Department with 34 beds
• Serves all patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric cases
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• EMR system is Medhost
• Day/evening shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
• Weekend hours required every other weekend
• On-call required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale — all must be AHA-issued and in hand prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
