Description:
Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized radiologic technology services to pediatric patient populations.
The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and diseases.
Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, you will provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services in various care settings.
You will prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians to be performed.
Communication and collaboration with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team are essential to identify and implement the actions necessary to achieve desired clinical outcomes and operational goals.
Utilizing specialized radiologic equipment and techniques, you will perform a diverse range of diagnostic and interventional procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
Conducting post-procedure reviews will ensure that all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality is consistent with established protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
You will transfer images and data to appropriate archival systems, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for reporting by physicians.
Performing operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines is an essential responsibility.
Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities will help maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments.
The ability to apply principles of radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and positioning of patients is required.
You must work as part of a team, follow instructions, and report to work consistently as scheduled.
Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs is crucial.
Maintaining accurate records and working with names, numbers, and codes accurately is necessary.
You should possess the ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Exercising discretion in handling confidential information and demonstrating sound judgment is essential.
The ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations is required.
Understanding various operations, policies, and procedures is important.
You will need to work and communicate with staff, patients, and their families in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner.
A high level of initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently is necessary.
The ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail is expected.
Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology and radiologic technologies are essential.
You should have the ability to apply core-level primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation with general supervision or assistance.
Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary specialty or from a JRCERT accredited educational program is required.
Preferred education includes an associate's degree or higher.
