Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This role is within a critical care setting focused on providing specialized care to our most vulnerable patient population.

The NICU provides comprehensive, intensive care for very high acuity neonates, ranging from 22 weeks gestation and greater. As a vital member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for managing complex medical conditions and implementing advanced therapeutic interventions.

This unit is equipped to deliver a wide array of critical care therapies, including advanced ventilatory support, specialized circulatory and respiratory treatments, and comprehensive neonatal resuscitation, ensuring the highest level of care for our tiny patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, intensive nursing care to neonates from 22 weeks gestation and greater with very high acuity conditions.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring total body cooling therapies.
• Operate and maintain various ventilation systems, including conventional ventilators and High Frequency Oscillator Ventilation (HFOV).
• Administer and monitor inhaled nitric oxide therapy.
• Manage continuous intravenous drips for vasopressors and sedation, ensuring precise titration and patient response.
• Perform meticulous central line maintenance and care to prevent complications.
• Lead and participate in neonatal resuscitation efforts according to established protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.
• Demonstrated ability to care for high-acuity neonates, including those from 22 weeks gestation and greater.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
