Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Asheville, NC, with flexibility for some work from home. This role manages the end-to-end mortgage loan process, including consulting with prospective borrowers, gathering and analyzing financial documentation, and recommending appropriate loan products. The Mortgage Loan Officer will work closely with underwriters, real estate professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure timely approvals, accurate disclosures, and a smooth closing process. Daily responsibilities include responding to client inquiries, providing clear explanations of loan options and terms, maintaining a pipeline of applications, and following up proactively to meet deadlines and compliance requirements. The role involves building and maintaining strong client and referral relationships while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company policies. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar mortgage advisory role, with a strong understanding of loan origination processes. Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan products. Familiarity with underwriting principles and documentation requirements, and ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams. Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally to diverse clients. Relevant state licensing or registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer, or eligibility and willingness to obtain required licenses. Proficiency with loan origination systems, basic financial analysis, and digital tools used in mortgage processing. Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills, with attention to detail and compliance with applicable regulations.
