Graphic Designer

Job Description Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks a dynamic, student‑centered, and forward‑thinking Graphic Designer to provide visionary leadership. The position is full‑time, on‑site, and based at our Prescott, Arizona campus. It reports to the Director of Creative and Brand Strategy. Key Responsibilities Develop creative concepts and visual solutions that align with project goals and university brand standards. Execute designs for a variety of formats (publications, campaigns, digital assets, environmental graphics, etc.). Prepare production‑ready files for print and digital distribution. Ensure accuracy, quality, accessibility, and consistency across all deliverables. Collaborate with clients, copywriters, and the graphic design team to adhere to university brand guidelines based on direction from the Creative Director and the Director of Creative and Brand Strategy. Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices in higher education marketing and visual communication. Contribute ideas to improve creative workflows, processes, and team collaboration. Participate in weekly creative team meetings and one‑on‑one meetings to discuss project workload, priorities, and performance. Maintain accurate project status updates and task management within the department’s project management system. Perform other duties as assigned by the Creative Director or Director of Creative and Brand Strategy. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. 3–5 years of creative/marketing agency or higher‑education experience (preferred). Strong portfolio demonstrating typography, layout, color, and print production processes. Excellent typography skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and execute focused, detail‑driven creative work. Strong communication and presentation skills, including client pitches and incorporating feedback. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, collaborative university environment. ERAU contributes 6% of base salary to retirement plan with a 4% matching contribution (no vesting period). 15 days of personal leave for non‑exempt employees or 18 days for exempt full‑time employees in the first year.
