Driver/Preventive Maintenance CustodianPerforms maintenance and repair services at assigned district facility. Delivering supplies throughout the District to assist in ensuring that a safe, clean and functioning environment exists for students and staff.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Performs a wide variety of preventive maintenance where necessary to include electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems within capabilities and licensing certifications as needed and as directed by immediate supervisorAttends to painting projects of district facilities as requiredMaintains communication with site based lead custodians to establish that all necessary supplies get orderedMonitor and records district-wide safety concerns and reports such concerns to the Director of Maintenance or Facilities coordinatorAssists with special custodial projects as directed by immediate supervisor,Fills in for Lead Maintenance and custodians and grounds keepers as neededMaintains all floor surfaces in a safe mannerReports major repair needs to school's Lead Maintenance/CustodianReports any vandalism or other damage of district property to Director or Facilities CoordinatorAssumes responsibility for securing his/her assigned areaAssists with snow removal from district facilities when neededRuns a variety of machines, tools and equipment in a safe manner as they are intended to accomplish needed dutiesReads labels on chemicals and M.S.D.S. (Material Safety Data Sheets) to ensure safe use, storage and handling of all cleaning and maintenance chemicalsResponsible for opening the D.O. in the morningsOn-call in the mornings for Bright Futures PreschoolOrders all supplies and delivers them throughout the School DistrictProvide training and support to custodial and maintenance staffAssist moving boxes and/or equipment and/ or furniture throughout the DistrictKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to operate mechanized tools, maintenance and cleaning equipmentAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingProduce accurate work and complete assignments with minimal supervisionAbility to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situationsAbility to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community membersKnowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policiesAbility to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional responseQualifications & Requirements:Education & Experience:High School diploma or equivalent2 year previous maintenance experienceAZ Drivers LicenseAny equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirementsCriminal justice/Fingerprint clearanceComputer Proficiency: The ability to read and respond to district emails and interact with the work order tracking system.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
